Our lovingly renovated self-catering hut offers 75 m² of living space for 1 to 5 people. With a rustic cabin character. Very cosy and secluded. Non-smoking. Allergy-friendly (no animal hair). Rentable year round.

The Waldhütte has been awarded 3 Edelweiß according to the guidelines of the Tyrolean Private Room Renters Association. We have endeavoured to set up and operate according to ecological values. Just the way we like it. The appreciation and conservation of nature is important to us.

ORIGINAL Natural mattresses: The use of natural materials, whenever possible from the region, is important to us. For example, our mattresses come from the Tyrolean specialist company "Absamer Naturbetten" and are handmade from coconut latex.

Location/Arrival

So close yet so far...

The Waldhütte is in a secluded location – in an idyllic forest. On Hochpillberg near Schwaz, in the Tux Alps.
Step off the doorstep directly in nature. And if you would like to see people, it’s not far from farmed huts, mountain inns and partner companies at Hochpillberg. You can go shopping in Schwaz, 10 km away. Throughout the year, you can feel good at the Waldhütte - relax, be active, recuperate or get a taste of Tyrolean culture on the mountain and in the valley...

Arrival:

By car in summer

Take the SCHWAZ exit from the motorway for 800m toward “Zentrum Schwaz”. At the first roundabout in Schwaz, take the first exit in the direction of Wattens/Innsbruck for 1.5km and at the end of town near the swimming pool take the second turn from the roundabout toward Pillberg. Drive for 8.3km on the asphalt mountain road until you reach the parking lot in Hochpillberg. In summer: Continue by car along the forest road "Loasweg" (direction “Loas Hütte”) for 1 km and you will see the road “Hoferweg”. Because there is a steep narrow curve onto Hoferweg, you have to drive about 150 m past it, turn around and then you will be able to turn onto Hoferweg. Continue along Hoferweg for about 250 m and park on the left at the Waldhütte sign. Go 50m further on foot, go past the red "window box" on the right, which is hanging from the tree. It’s about 80 steps up a steep incline to reach the Waldhütte, house number 35.

By car in winter

Drive up to parking lot in Hochpillberg, just like in summer. Park the car at the parking lot in Hochpillberg and continue on foot (about 900m/15 min. walk), luggage transport by expedition sledge "Pulka".

Public transportation

By train to SCHWAZ train station, walk about 400 m to the terminal "Wopfnerstraße". Take the Pillberg-Bus line 8 to the stop "Parkplatz Hochpillberg", continue on foot to the road “Hoferweg” and then on Hoferweg for about 900m/15min. walk. 20 metres after house number 34, turn left into the forest (past the red window box) and up the steep incline for about 80 steps. Then you are right in front of the Waldhütte, house number 35.

A short-term cancellation can mean extra organizational overhead or up to a financial loss for us.
